Non Profit Status

San Jose-Okayama Sister City Organzation, Inc. is a non-profit public benefit corporation, incorporated in the State of California. The goals of this organization are generally thought to qualify for IRS listing as a "501(3)(c)" entity that has non-profit, tax exempt status. In such a status, in regard to this organization, some or all donations may be deductible from your income tax.

At this moment, the status is pending with the IRS and is not listed at this time. The guidance from the IRS is that donations made to the organization may be made with the idea that they will be deductable. However, should this status not be granted or if the status is not granted during calendar year 2009, this donation may not be deductable.

San Jose - Okayama Sister City Organization recognizes this issue and will notify all donors when the approval has been approved. If there is some reason that the approval is not achieved by 12/31/2009, we will notify them of that as well.
